Cassandra Heard to Perform in Belhaven University's Fall Dance Concert

Cassandra Heard of Maplewood, Missouri will star in the Fall Dance Concert, which has earned the reputation of being one of the premier and highly anticipated dance performances at Belhaven University.

Cynthia Newland, Associate Professor of Dance and Chair of the Dance Department said, "There are two guest artists' original creations being performed at this year's Fall Dance Concert. As well, there are three other dance works that make use of technology and image projection to enhance the artistic experience for all who attend. Biblical principles are woven throughout the evening's ballet and modern dance performances, stimulating the soul through creative encounters, laughter and reflection."

Shows will run November 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19 at the Bitsy Irby Visual Arts and Dance Center and will start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 17 will host a special Matinee at 11:00 a.m.

Belhaven's dance faculty and guest artists' will showcase an array of beautifully crafted choreography and visual art. The Belhaven University Dance Ensemble will present a number of different dance styles for the evening that start from classical and contemporary ballet to traditional and contemporary modern.
