Dixie Trimm Performed in Belhaven University Orchestra and Strings Concert

Dixie Trimm from Grovetown, GA performed in the Belhaven Orchestra and Strings Concert on Friday, March 23, 2012. Trimm is a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Belhaven University.

Belhaven faculty and student instrumentalists assembled for a special Orchestra and Strings Concert at 7:30 P.M. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

A full orchestra, led by Mr. Song Xie and Dr. Stephen Sachs, filled the stage and included musical selections from the Belhaven's String Quartet that also featured orchestra, solo and duet performances from other talented musicians in Belhaven's Music Department. A rousing Spanish solo violin piece was presented as well as a Russian violin duet and Spanish violin duet.

Professor Song Xie said, "This was an exciting and beautiful evening of music with our prize-winning string students as they showcased solo and chamber music performances."

The Belhaven University Orchestra also contributed a wonderful performance with two pianists performing concerti movements with the symphony.
